I had been working out with Melissa for about 7 months before the gym closed due to covid. I was extremely excited when she announced her remote sessions. They work well for my schedule and save me from having to travel to the gym (and the traffic that comes along). I have to admit I was initially fooled by how simple some of the movements she had me do seemed, but we spent time building correct form, and progressively the movements got more difficult. The most amazing thing is that I not only became better at doing the movements, I also became stronger (even sweated during my workouts). She knows her stuff and can easily adapt or suggest movements to focus on targeted areas, but whole body fitness is an important part of her program. Thanks to her planning and motivation, my fitness goals have become better integrated into my overall lifestyle.

I loved working with Melissa! As a mother of 2 under 2 and struggling with weight and energy, I reached out to my gym to connect me with a personal trainer. During my consultation I had explained that I needed to lose weight, build muscle and gain energy. I also shared that I was never a "gym type" so I wasn't familiar/comfortable with exercise equipment and had trouble incorporating exercising as part of my normal routine. Immediately, they recommended Melissa as she had training with working with pregnant women and postpartum moms. As soon as I met with her, I was at ease. Our first chat was all about who I was, what I was dealing with as a mom, what I'm comfortable/uncomfortable with and where I wanted to be. That alone did it for me. Not everyone coming into the gym has been going to the gym for years and can jump right into a burpee. She truly listened to my situation and created a program that would fit me. Throughout my time with her, the plan was clear and direct. I felt like I was in control and she was there with support and also to give me the push I needed. Needless to say, I lost weight and gained my energy. I was stronger and able to carry my toddlers with more ease. She helped me this summer address some muscle imbalances I have and it has drastically changed my performance in my regular physical hobbies (rock climbing, hiking, cycling & weightlifting). I have an extensive background in weightlifting and have had many coaches over the years when I’ve competed. I am 28-year-old former collegiate athlete that was completely burnt out with fitness, so much so that once I stopped playing sports, working out ceased all together.
